The Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) is currently recruiting to fill a vacant Eastern Oregon Regional Representative position (Planner 3) located in La Grande, Oregon. This position is permanent and full time, and is represented by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees union. The region includes Baker, Gilliam, Grant, Harney, Malheur, Morrow, Umatilla, Union, Wallowa, and Wheeler counties and the cities in those counties.
DLCD’s regional representatives carry out the department’s mission, statutory mandates, and statewide planning requirements through direct assistance, coordination, and review of the land use activities of local governments, state agencies, and special service districts. This position represents the department in urban and rural planning matters.
The position is stationed at the Eastern Oregon Regional Solutions Center on the campus of Eastern Oregon University. The regional representative is a member of the Northeast and Greater Eastern Oregon Regional Solutions teams along with the Oregon departments of Business Development, Environmental Quality, Housing and Community Services, and Transportation.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Urban or Regional Planning, Public Administration, Social Science, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Economics, Geography or a related field; AND Three (3) years of progressively responsible planning experience related to the job.
OR Six (6) years of planning experience related to the job.
Note: A Master’s Degree in Regional Planning, Public Administration, Social Science, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Economics, Geography or a related field may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.
NOTE: Course work in Urban or Regional Planning, Public Administration, Social Science, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Economics, Geography or a related field can substitute for up to two (2) years of the progressively responsible experience.
