This position will be responsible for providing planning consultant services and professional land use planning services to municipalities throughout eastern and central Oregon. Responsibilities include development and management of project scope, budget, schedule, and project delivery plan; communication with clients and agencies including presentations to city councils, planning commissions, etc.; research, review, analysis, and coordination of zoning, annexation, subdivision, and related land use items as they pertain to rural municipalities; developing comprehensive plans, public facilities plans, studies, and reports; and working closely with engineering and natural resources departments as part of a project team.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 to 10+ years of increasingly responsible experience in the planning field. Applicants must have experience with local, state, and federal land use laws and be familiar with local planning processes in the state of Oregon. Additionally, applicants must have at least a bachelor’s degree in urban planning, geography, public administration, or other related fields. AICP certification is preferred but not required. Candidates’ resumes must show experience with public speaking and participating in and leading meetings with clients and the public. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and must agree to a background check. Candidates’ resumes should clearly demonstrate experience with municipal land use planning.
