The City of Monmouth is accepting applications for a full-time Community Development Director. This is an ideal position for a planning professional seeking to broaden their job duties and impact on the community.
Key duties include all levels of land use planning, economic development, tourism and events, business community interface, grant-writing, board and commission support and special projects. The position reports directly to the City Manager and is part of the City management team.
Monmouth is a town of 9745 residents, located in the Willamette Valley about 25 minutes west of Salem. It is the home of Western Oregon University. The City of Monmouth is a full-service municipality that is well-managed, offers high quality services and is respected in the community.
The ideal candidate would have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in urban planning or public administration and a minimum of four years progressively responsible experience in land use planning and project management.
