The OAPA Professional Development Committee is initiating a book group for OAPA members and non-members who are interested in planning issues. The Committee recognizes that, while there are many opportunities for planners to get continuing education through webinars and in-person conference sessions, many people like to learn through reading and discussion. Initially, meetings will be held quarterly. Some meetings will be in person and others will be via the internet so that people can participate from anywhere with an internet connection.
The first OAPA Book Group meeting will be held in person on Wednesday, January 17 at 6:00 pm at the Oregon Wine LAB. Food and drink available for purchase.
The first book selection is Walkable City: How Downtown Can Save America, One Step at a Time by Jeff Speck.
